Among Wrathos: Official Multiverse Recap Before "For Blood & Flame" [2 DAYS LEFT]
"For Blood and Flame" releases in 2 days, so here's a brief multiverse recap to refresh your memory on my Alchemight Duology and Fates of Mirror trilogy.
For this week’s The Weekly Wrath, I have the highly requested multiverse recap! If you’re new here, my name is Jinapher. Welcome to Wrathos, my multiverse of feminine rage, and to all the mommas in the chat, Happy Mother’s Day!
Reminder: For Blood and Flame releases on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. As long as you’re subscribed, you will get a release alert at 7 am PST on May 14! The following day, you will receive the Project Death (Alchemight Duology Spin-Off) title and cover reveal.
These recaps are very brief and barely touch on all the elements of the plots in these books. Please, please actually read the books before For Blood and Flame. At the very least, you must read For Mist and Tar. FBAF is a direct sequel to FMAT. If you have not read For Mist and Tar, you will be very, very confused.
THE RECAP IS NOT SPOILER-FREE. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.
!SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT!
For Mist and Tar Recap
YOUR JOURNEY BEGAN in For Mist and Tar, a realm starved of magic called Alchemight and split between two nations, Scorus and Frales.
The plot is set in motion when a masked leader of Equilibrium offers Eledar Lirik a chance to steal the source of all magic. When Vellene Winloc runs away from her father (Aquim Winloc), she stumbles upon Eledar and his quest. Together, they plan to take down her father.
Kadir Rathmore, a chemi everyone thought was dead, arrives in Scorus and accepts an offer from Vellene’s father to Infuse with her, Infusion being a power-sharing bond and the ceremony akin to marriage.
Everything snowballs in the last 35% of For Mist and Tar. Kadir is revealed to be the leader of Equilibrium and the Master of Eledar Lirik. Kadir leads Equilibrium into Scorus and blows up Winloc Grove (Aquim Winloc’s stronghold) with the help of Vellene’s seemingly nonimportant younger sister, Mogaell Winloc.
Vellene’s power of fire and Fury awakens and she beheads Aquim with the Winloc Sword. Kadir forces Eledar to join Equilibrium to keep Eledar from overdosing on lumis. Everyone believes Vellene is dead.
For Blood and Flame resumes 3 weeks later and includes two new POVs: Kadir Rathmore and Mogaell Winloc.
Fates of Mirror Recap
There will be more than one cameo from the Fates of Mirror trilogy in For Blood and Flame.
IN THE REALM OF MIRROR, you meet spit-fire mercenary Zora Vyner. Zora is offered a chance to seek vengeance for the murder of her parents and find her lost brother when a Boss of The Underground (The Prince) gives her an invitation. She and The Prince have a romantic connection. Zora competes in a fight-to-the-death trial to become the Heir of Fate’s bride. The Prince is revealed to be Cristen Estal, the Heir of Fate of Estal Kingdom. The Beast is revealed to be Zora’s missing brother, Xavier. Seemingly, Cristen and Xavier were working together. Zora’s best friend, Gretta, is killed, and Harmony Evercore is declared the winner of the trials.
After being held prisoner by her brother, Zora decides to trust Xavier when he offers her the ability to rule The Underground at his side. Angry at Cristen for betraying her and getting Gretta killed, she has no intention of resuming any kind of romantic relationship with him. She stabs him and he forces her into marriage. They are Bonded/Anchored to each other through Nowhere as husband and wife/king and queen of Estal Kingdom. But the kingdom comes under attack by the realm’s Guardian, Artos Null.
Artos dismantles all of Estal Kingdom. Zora undergoes torture by Artos so he can ‘tame’ her for her power. He blinds her. Cristen and Harmony go to Vexx Kingdom for aid. There, they learn more about Artos and the Guardians. Zora escapes Artos and goes to Vexx. The Heirs of Fate give Zora their power, which restores her eyesight with the ability to not only see again but to also see threads.
Zora tries to kill Artos one-on-one before the war begins, but her brother manages to cut her throat. Zora slips toward death, and in that moment, she goes to Nowhere. Seemingly, she is presented with an opportunity by two Gods (Magic and Mayhem) to become a full Descendant. They heal her and she reenters the battlefield, destroying Artos and placing his power into her crown. With her crown and all the power from the Heirs, she is now Fate.
Zora and Cristen get married. Cristen is named King of Mirror. However, Zora is immortal. In the final Epilogue, Cristen passes away from old age, and Zora leaves Mirror. In grief, Zora discovers a room of strange portal-like mirrors. At a table sits a woman with power like her, a woman with the ability to manipulate fire. This woman is revealed to be Vellene Winloc from Alchemight, who you now know is alive.
For Blood and Flame will continue this moment where Zora and Vellene meet. There will also be another surprise, but I’m not about to ruin it for you.
Please remember that Fates doesn’t have a major presence in For Blood and Flame, just some brief cameos near the end of the book. FBAF is the tipping point, however. More and more connections will be made with each new book.
I hope that helps refresh your mind on the four books leading up to For Blood and Flame. All of my books are available through Kindle Unlimited, eBook, and Paperback. For Mist and Tar is also available in stamped hardcover.
