Welcome to Visionaries! Discover which pathway is best for you.
BETA + SENSITIVITY APPS FULL/CLOSED. ACCEPTANCE TO SEND 1.30.24. ARCS STILL OPEN BUT FILLING FAST!
Hello, Visionaries! I have a quick note for all Wrathos Books subscribers:
I’ve had over a hundred emails of readers struggling to get signed up to be a Visionary. You have all been automatically added to combat this overwhelm. Visionary emails will always send on Tuesdays (though not every week, only when there’s a mission) and you can choose to opt out of Visionary emails at any time by adjusting your personal settings. Please note that you may need to hold down on this link if you’re on mobile and select to open it in a browser for full capabilities.
Okay, with that little bit of maintenance out of the way, I am VERY excited to say I am now opening applications for For Blood and Flame. I have a few different options for all Visionaries. If you need a refresher on who makes the best Visionary, you can give this article a quick read and come back here to sign up.
As a quick update: The 15k to “For Blood and Flame” Marketing Campaign is in full swing. If you missed what it is and how to help out, you can read this article.
Visionary Mission Launch: Find Beta, Sensitivity, and ARC Readers
Note: No matter which path you choose, all who apply must have read the books before “For Blood and Flame”. This includes “For Mist and Tar”, “Veil of Fate”, “Heir of Fate”, and “Wars of Fate”. All of my books are available here if you’re looking to get caught up and then apply.
All pathways should be aware of the following trigger warnings for For Blood and Flame:
This is a GrimDark Adult Epic Fantasy book. Please proceed with the utmost caution. Some of these content warnings could be potential spoilers.
Characters who battle prominent mental illness, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD; On-Page Suicide Attempts and Self-Mutilation; Heavy Violence and Gore associated with war, including beheadings, corpse mutilation, torture, hangings, and descriptions of dismembered body parts; On-Page Death, including the death of parents and children; Heavy allusions (not on-page but heavily implied) to child sexual assault and child abuse; Some Profanity; On-Page Sex; Overall extremely dark, emotional themes.
There are three pathways to choose from:
One reader cannot do more than one pathway, so choose which you think is best for you!
Beta Reading: “For Blood and Flame”
I am looking for at least two experienced beta readers to help me completely finalize For Blood and Flame.
You have beta read at least once before and enjoyed being close to the author’s finalization process.
You will be provided with a non-final copy of For Blood and Flame through Bookfunnel, as well as a Google Doc with a set of questions. Answering the questions is mandatory to help ensure I can get the proper feedback from you. Don’t worry, there won’t be many, and almost all will have to do with your experience as an entirety. Beta reading for me has a focus on overall themes, pacing, and character arcs.
You’re caught up in both Alchemight and Mirror.
Most importantly, beta readers should be aware I am looking for sensitivity readers now. That means there could be potential content warnings that are not yet listed above because they have not been brought to my attention. I am going to suggest — if you are someone susceptible to triggers, then please apply for an ARC instead, which is when the warnings will be finalized.

Sensitivity Reading: “For Blood and Flame”
I am looking for as many sensitivity readers as necessary to read for the trigger warnings and provide me with feedback on how they are handled across the book.
You must have the ability to read for all the triggers listed above, as well as be able to identify with at least one to give me your critical feedback on. I will provide you with questions ina Google Doc to be answered.
You will not have to provide me with specifics. You can simply mark on the application which of the triggers you feel comfortable providing feedback on.
Queerness is not a trigger, but I am looking for at least one reader who can provide their perspective on my Bi characters and a throuple in the novel. A polyamorous individual or two to read for this would be best. Love and identity are fluid in Alchemight.

Advanced Reviewer Copies (ARCs): “For Blood and Flame”
I haven’t decided yet on exactly how many ARCs I will give away or if there will even be a cap, but it’s first come, first serve!
What is an ARC, and Am I Eligible?
An ARC is an Advanced Reviewer Copy of a book. These digital copies will be sent one week prior to the book’s publication date through BookFunnel. The goal for ARCs is to have readers finish the upcoming book and prepare a review to be posted within the first week of release.
Reviews left during the very first week of a book’s publication on sites like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and GoodReads help boost the book in those sites’ algorithms. It will begin to recommend the book to more readers. That’s why the more reviews left that first week, the better.
ARC Expectations For Wrathos Books
While reviews are never mandatory, it’s important to note that applying for an ARC with no intention of leaving a review is highly detrimental to my career.
I do participate in free eBook deals throughout the year. So, if you’re just looking to get a free copy, then please be sure you’re subscribed so you can grab one on the next free day! Otherwise, please purchase the book at the time of release.
Who I’m Looking For
This go around, I am putting an extra focus on anyone willing to post a video review of For Blood and Flame to BookTok and/or Instagram. We all know how instrumental word-of-mouth is, and a quick video review really can do wonders for an indie author. So, if that’s something you know you can offer, definitely be sure to let me know the specifics on your application!
