Good morning, Wrathos readers! I am coming to you earlier than our scheduled Sunday newsletter because I have some very unfortunate news.
It genuinely pains me to say this because not only am I losing any money I’ve made through B&N during release week, but you (if you choose to cancel) will also have to go through Amazon to get your copy of “FOR BLOOD AND FLAME”. But let me clear this up a bit:
I have been in contact with B&N all week (and by in contact I mean I’ve contacted and they’ve all but ignored me) trying to STOP the sale of FBAF on their site. I received my final proof copy in the mail, and though the final files were uploaded, I realized they were printing the ARC.
On the backend of my B&N portal, I am completely locked out of making any updates to FBAF. It won’t even let me just delete the book altogether and upload a new version. The one reply I’ve gotten from them is that they’ve sent my concerns to the appropriate team member, but I’ve not gotten any updates or reassurances that the problem is being worked on.
This means: if you preordered a physical copy OR you have ordered from B&N at all, you will receive an outdated ARC copy of the book in the mail.
Unfortunately, ARC copies were not completely edited yet. There are two romantic scene expansions not included in ARCs, and ARCs also still had a fair amount of grammatical errors before I sent to the final proofreader. There are also a few multiverse thread plot holes that are inaccurate in that version that were fixed for the final.
I, first of all, offer my sincere apology. I have done everything I can on my end to rectify this situation, and all I can really do at this point is tell readers not to order the book from B&N.
Please note the copies on Amazon are completely okay! They are final and good to go. So if you want to cancel your B&N order and grab one over there, that works perfectly fine, too.
That is…unless you want the ARC? So if you choose to keep this copy, it will obviously be a limited supply. As soon as I can fix the book, this physical copy will no longer be available.
You are more than welcome to submit a refund request/cancel your B&N order, but if you choose to keep your ARC, then you are also welcome to please send me a screenshot of your receipt to storiesbyjinapher@gmail.com and I will send you the final version ebook at no cost. I really REALLY don’t want you to have paid for something that wasn’t even fully proofed yet.
Again, I am so sorry. I am continuing to reach out to B&N to fix this problem. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to drop a comment. I will do my best to answer in a timely manner!
